RPM Privacy Policy

RPM is an online sales analysis service owned by RPM Retail Ltd which uses Subscribers’ Data to provide smarter management decisions.

This Privacy Policy was last updated on 1 June 2022.

Ownership of the Subscribers’ Data

All Data stored by the Service remains the Subscriber's property.

Data Management

The Service will integrate with Data collected from each Subscriber or Authorised User's computer or head office server. The Service gathers Data by installing a program which first extracts and then transfers the Data to the database used by the Service.

The Data collected is stored securely in a database and is only accessible to RPM staff, approved contractors, Authorised Users and other parties authorised by the Subscriber.  It is the Subscribers’ responsibility to keep their password safe.

Following a cancellation request from the Subscriber, or other termination of the Service, the Data will be permanently removed from the Service within three business days of the effective cancellation date.

Disclosure of Personal Information

To the extent that we collect and store any "personal information" under the Privacy Act, we will comply with the Privacy Act and only use and disclose such information for the purposes of:

• administering the Subscriber's account (including credit checking and debt collection);

• providing, maintaining and developing the Service;

• contacting the Subscriber about the Service; and

• related business purposes of RPM.

Under the Privacy Act the Subscriber has right to access and correct any personal information held by RPM.

Monitoring usage of the Service

RPM staff and approved contractors can access usage information and the Data to better understand how subscribers are using the Service in order to improve the design and user experience. The Service may also prompt users with suggestions on ways to improve their own use of the system. All usage information is stored in a secure data warehouse facility.

Sector Results

RPM reserves the right to disclose the results of aggregated Sector data in order to provide commentary on sector performance and promote the Service. A Sector is defined as a collection of businesses which are not affiliated to a group. A Sector may also be comprised of multiple groups, however in this instance, approval will be sought from each groups’ head office prior to any disclosures being made.

Supplier Subscription

A supplier approved by the retail groups’ head office can subscribe to view RPM data on their products for each Subscriber. In this case the supplier staff are Authorised Users.

The Subscribers’ Data is provided securely across the Internet

Servers used in conjunction with the Service have SSL Certificates issued by Go Daddy Secure Certificate Authority, so all Data transferred between Subscribers, Authorised Users and the Service is encrypted. However, the Internet is not in itself a secure environment and the Subscriber’s and Authorised Users browser must support the encryption security used in connection with the Service.

The Subscriber’s browser stores no information that will identify the Subscriber

The Service utilises "cookies" and other technical measures that support the monitoring of traffic patterns and help make subsequent use of the Service more efficient. RPM will not sell or otherwise provide the Subscriber’s personal information to a third party, or make any other use of personal information about the Subscriber for any purpose which is not incidental to the normal use of the Service.

The Subscriber can opt-out of any email communications

RPM sends notifications about the Service along with billing information and other relevant communications to the Subscriber via email. Where appropriate email communication will contain clear and obvious instructions describing how the Subscriber can opt to be removed from the mailing list. RPM will remove the Subscriber upon the Subscriber’s request.

The Subscriber is responsible for checking the Privacy Policy of any third-party applications with which the Service links

The Service may contain links enabling functionality provided by third-party applications. RPM takes no responsibility for the privacy practices or content of these applications.

This policy may be updated from time to time

RPM reserves the right to change this policy at any time and any amended policy is effective upon the posting on this website. RPM will also make every effort to communicate these changes to the Subscriber via email or notification via the website.

Please read our Terms of Use
